The ASWCFK cafe, also known as the pantry, is a space where children and families can enjoy a snack or meal together while gazing at the boats, helicopters and action on the east river. It is a room with a view, it gives an ambiance that most people pay for when they go out to dinner. We wanted to bring this idea into the hospital. With a refrigerator for general use, as well as one for families who keep kosher, a microwave, seats and tables, the space emulates perhaps a kitchen at home or a favorite local cafe.
