9th Floor Hallways

The custom made flooring patterns in the hallways engage the children in a playful manner as they travel to various areas of the unit. Children are drawn to the names and symbols identifying each patient room. When a patient is going back to their room after a procedure, we want them to remember there room by the name of a bird or a flower and not by a room number. The focal point of the unit, the nurse’s station has been subtly, yet beautifully transformed in “Grand Central Station.” A mural depicting views that one might see while riding a train into Manhattan from points outside of the city encircles the entire space.
